Method of Calculation of Net Winnings under Section 194BA

 In the for Financial Year 2023, a separate provision for the taxability of Online Games was introduced i.e., Section 194BA. This was much anticipated because of the current development seen in Online Gaming Industry and a number of Websites and Applications being introduced in the recent years offering Online Betting on various Sports.  Section 194BA states that, "Any person earning income from winnings from any online gaming, then the person who is responsible to pay such winnings shall be liable to deduct TDS from the NET WINNINGS  of such person earning income." B efore starting with the topic let's first give you a brief overview of SIP. A SIP stands for 'Systematic Investment Plan" wherein an investor periodically makes a payment of a specified amount that gets invested in Equity, Debt or/and Gold. Indian Mutual Fund got introduced with the concept of SIP by Franklin Templeton in 1993. A n Investor has an option to put a SIP to pause subject to conditions laid down by AMC (UTI Asset Management Co. Ltd, ICICI Prudential Asset Management Co. Ltd. etc ) with which the SIP is running. Every AMC has laid down its own guidelines with respect to Pause Facility.
